The Best Salsa You’ve Ever Had!

Lately I’ve been trying to find ways to either substitute or incorporate healthy meals to my diet. I will admit that when I first started my fitness journey, it was rough! Now that I’ve gotten into the groove of things, it’s become alot easier.  As time has gone on, I’ve came to the realization that you don’t have to stick to a bland diet in order to lose weight. It’s all about portion control and restricting the amount of calories you intake for the day. There’s nothing like a bowl of crispy, lightly salted chips and vibrant, homemade salsa during the summer time to help cool off and keep the heat at bay. Not only is it a delicious treat but it’s also quite nutritious as well! Packed with veggies and full of flavor, you can’t go wrong with this recipe. This recipe is quick and easy to make and will be ready to devour in no time!

Let’s get started!

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium sized tomatoes
  • 3 Jalapeños (with the seeds)
  • 1 can of no salt diced tomatoes
  • 1 can of green chiles
  • 1 half of a large onion
  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 a cup of cilantro
  • 3 green onions
  • 2 tbsps of salt
  • 2 tbsps of pepper
  • 2 tbsps of complete seasoning

Recipe

1.) In your mixer combine all of your vegetables (tomatoes, jalapenos, onion). Combine until well blended.

2.) Add in your chopped cilantro and green onions. Blend until well combined.

3.) Once everything has been mixed together, go ahead and add in your diced tomatoes and canned green chilis. You already know the drill! BLEND, BLEND, BLEND!!!

4.) Now that every has finished blended, you’ll begin to notice that’s it’s starting to come together and look like salsa. You might be tempted to take it out of your blender and serve it up, but we’re not done yet! Go ahead and add in the juice of your lime, salt, pepper, and complete seasoning. Blend it in and you’re ready to go!

5.) To keep it light and healthy, I ate mine with a side of multigrain tortilla chips and a tall glass of water.

Feel free to adjust your ingredients to your taste. All measures listed above are estimates so feel free to customize your salsa to your liking.
