Accepting Change

Do you feel like you are the same person that you were a year ago?

  • Do you have new life goals?
  • Has your perception of life changed?
  • Do you notice that you’ve even started sporting a new look?

If so, congrats! You’re on the right track to becoming the best version of yourself. Whether you experienced a shift in your thought process or you had an epiphany of some sort, the change’s that you experience each year are all for the better. Look at it this way; whether or not you want to admit it to yourself, we are all on this beautiful sphere called Earth trying to figure out what our purpose in life is. In order to figure that out and piece things together, sometimes we have to switch things up and accept change. A change in your career or even a change in your mindset are both perfect examples of this.

Day after day….

….Year after year

Changes are always occurring and sometimes that may not be as blatant. As time goes by, not only will we experience physical change, but we also go through mental and emotional change as well. Our perception of life is constantly changing due to our own personal experiences. Whether good or bad, with everything you go through in life, there is always a lesson to be learned. The lessons that we take away from the situation is what helps us grow and change us for the better.

Whenever we think of change, we often think of it in a negative light. The reason why we react this way is out of fear of the unknown and not wanting to step out of what we are already comfortable with. Change is not always a bad thing and it actually does us alot of good to just accept it. Just like the leaves change colors in the fall every year, change is inevitable and a normal part of our lives. Never fear it! Embrace it with open arms and an open mind.

Sometimes it’s necessary

Looking back on your years of youth what stands out to you the most? Is it….

  • Playing on the jungle gym with your friends?
  • Watching your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
  • The different phases you went through?

Life was great in the early years! No bills, no adult responsibilities and the only thing you has to worry about was whether or not you passed that big test you had.

As time went on, changes started occurring…

  • It is no longer socially acceptable to play with the toys you had
  • You begin to mature both physically and mentally
  • The things that you once enjoyed seem childish and beneath you as of now

You are no longer that sweet and innocent child that you once were. Reason being is because you embraced the transition from child hood to adulthood. In order to mature, we must CHANGE . With out that transition, you would not be the wonderful person that you are today. Now don’t get me wrong, WE ALL have that inner child in us , but there are some things that you just have to let go. You absolutely cannot act the same way that you did years ago! Not only is it strange to behave that way, but whether or not we want to accept it, we all have to grow up sometime.

Knowledge Is Power

Acceptance is a major part of the growth process. You CANNOT….let me put some more emphasis on this….CANNOT grow if you don’t open your mind to new things. You know how they say “close mouth don’t get fed”? Well the same thing applies to the mind. Feed your mind with knowledge and open it to change. Step outside of your norm and try something new. You’ll be amazed at all the knowledge you gain when you are open minded to new things.

New Year, New Me

Right now is the perfect time the reflect on all that we’ve gone through in 2020. With covid, mass unemployment, and all of the other horrific things that have happened in 2020, this has been one hell of a year! With the new year upon us, let change our perspective. Instead of viewing things in a negative light lets look at the positive:

  • You’re alive (you may feel dead inside but nonetheless you’re here)
  • You’re healthy
  • You have a mind to think and a mouth to speak

The world may be in total chaos right now but don’t let that get to you.

…New Year

New me…

Let’s start 2021 of right with a change in our attitude. Covid may be around for a while but don’t let that stop you from going after what you want in life. Whether your New Years resolution is to lose weight or even start a business; speak it into existence and claim it! What we are not about to do is take that 2020 attitude with us in the New Year. Keep that in the past and let’s moving foward. This year is going to be great and you all will do amazing things!

What is your New Years Resolution for 2021 and how do your plan on reaching that goal? Feel free to leave a comment below!

Thanks for the insight!! I’m also learning to look at things in a positive light. My goal is to stop selling myself short and just for it in my career, blogging, family, etc.

Beautiful post and so true! Of course, I can’t say it’s true for me because I feel stuck in a rut right now. But I’m confident that will change soon. Have a very happy New Year!

Yesss! We CANNOT grow if we dont open our minds. This is very true. I have always been the girl anxious if there’s any change that I feel happening in my life. But 2020 actually taught me a lot and one of this is making peace with what’s about to happen. It made me feel more hopeful, and worry more less. I believe because of this, I’m a little bit braver than I was the past years back. Thanks for sharing this wonderful post. 😌🌻✨

Definitely changed a lot in the last year, as hardship and fear brought out the good: I’m more confident, have. A higher self worth. And I’m more grateful for little things I had never thought of before, like the work done by grocery store clerks.
