Self Care Tips For Fall

It’s that time of year again! Summer is gone and fall is officially here. The air is getting cooler, leaves are changing, and if you ask me the is the best time of year. With the temperatures getting cooler and the days getting shorter, it can be alot easier to slip into depression. Listed below are tips on how to keep your cool during these colder months. Remember, take care of yourself and your mind will take care of you.

🍁Go For A Walk🍁

It’s so refreshing to just go for a walk after a long day and breath in that crisp, cool, fall air! (Don’t breathe in too hard though. Wouldn’t want Ms. Rona to get you!) Put on some cute sweats and sneakers, throw that mask on, get some tunes flowing, and you’re good to go! A walk after a long day can do wonders for the mind. As a suggestion, I find it best to walk a minimum of 1 mile so that you’ll have plenty of time to focus and reflect. Take this moment to think of any goals that you would like to achieve, things that you are thankful to have in your life, and anything else that brings you peace of mind. Afterwards you’ll find yourself feeling refreshed and all your worries will be forgotten.

🍁Indulge In Your Favorite Snacks🍁

I bet I know what’s on your mind right now. You’re thinking about those pumpkin spice treat’s you saw at the grocery store aren’t you? That beautiful, spicy aroma just drew you in and now that’s all you have a taste for. You just have to have a bite of that pumpkin spice muffin you saw on the shelf just waiting for you to bite into it! You’re on a diet right now and all that hard work is about to go out the window because not only did you get that muffin that you were drooling over, you also got an apple pie!

Fall is the season to indulge. Enjoy those pumpkin spice flavored treats, dive into those pies, and eat all the ham you’re stomach can take. As long as you keep up that workout, you’ll be alright! Do what makes you happy. If devouring plates of your mama’s delicious homemade mac and cheese and sweet potato pies puts a smile on your face, DO YOU BOO BOO! Besides, it’ll be January before we know it. All that weight gained will be worked out as part of your New Years Resolution. See you at the gym because I’ll be right there with you!

🍁Unleash Your Inner Diva🍁

“Boots and scarves and sweaters..OH MY!”

Fall is the best time of year when it comes to fashion and beauty. With the temperatures dropping, away goes all of your summer clothes and out comes your warmer clothing. Now’s your time to shine because I know you’ve been waiting all summer to pull those thigh high boots out! We will certainly be looking fly (does anyone even say fly anymore?) this season with our makeup done, hair looking fabulous, and our outfits well put together. Don’t even get me started on the gorgeous colors of fall! Maroons, olives, mustard yellows, taupes! So beautiful! This time of year will bring out the diva in anyone and as the saying goes “confidence is key!”. It’s perfectly ok to be a little extra this season because we feel our best when we look our best.

🍁Scents Galore🍁

There are so many great scents floating in the air during this time of year! With fall comes the scents of hearty soups being served, spices, full bodied designer perfumes, leaves, and those wonderful candle fragrances that you can find at your local Walmart. I don’t know what it is about those candles but I always have to stop and sniff them. Oh “Apple Spice” scented candle is that you I smell?

How does it make you feel when you smell these scents? Does it make you feel good? Is it comforting? Forget aromatherapy! Sometimes all it takes is the sniff of a warm and familiar scent to unwind and put your mind at ease.

What do you look forward to during this time of year? Leave a comment below.

Great tips! I’m all about autumn walks. There’s nothing better than going out after a long day of work, and being stuck indoors, than being outside, and that crisp air strokes your skin. It’s so rejuvenating.
