How To Practice Self-Care While Quarentined

Well hello there! What’s up? How’s everyone doing? Are you struggling with life? Do you feel like you’re losing your mind as the days go by? Life has been hectic for everyone these past few weeks due to this horrible virus. Which has caused a devastating effect on the well being of a lot of people all around the world. From being mandated to stay home to having to worrying about whether or not you will have a job the next day, it’s all too much for some of us to handle! To those of you who are considered “essential”, myself included, consider yourself lucky and stop complaining about having to go to work. Sure it would be great to be at home, but this is no vacation for a lot of people. The economy isn’t doing to well right now and jobs are being lost by the minute. Be thankful that you still have a job with income coming in because a lot of people are truly suffering right now. To those going through it right now, I really feel for you. I can only imagine just how much of a toll the effects of this virus has taken on your mental health. Being confined to your home, especially with it being nice outside, can be quite frustrating because we all just want to go out and enjoy the sunlight. If you feel yourself going crazy right now, don’t worry, I got you! Today, we will be looking at ways to practice self care and keep sane while under quarantine. Life may suck right now but things will surely improve with time! The best thing to do right now is to keep your head up and be thankful for all the things that you have at the moment. You have something that a lot of people wish they had right now, which would be the gift of life! Though money might be tight for a lot of us right now and life has been put on hold, let’s all forget about trivial things right now that we wish we had or could do and be happy to here be alive and healthy!

Slow Down

Just because the world is in total chaos right now, that does not mean that you have to be as well. Take this time that you have at home to relax and slow down. Allow yourself to unwind and take your mind off of things that are currently stressing you out. Forget about this virus along about anything else that may be bothering you at the moment. We are all in this mess together, so it’s best to take things one day at a time. Put it in your mind that you will be ok that and everything will get back to normal soon. Take this time to focus on healing your mind, reflect, and do the things that put a smile on your face.

Focus On Your Hobbies

I remember a time when it was ok to take walk outside and breathe in the fresh air. Man those were the good ol’ days! Back in my day we didn’t have to worry about a curfew, cities being shut down, or basically being confined to our homes. Like where they do that at? My, my, how times have changed ever since Ms. Rona took over. She’s such a bitch and I wish she would go away for good!

I know most of us don’t really have a choice, but who really wants to be stuck inside their homes on a beautiful day? Not much is open during the lock down so what it is there to really do? Now before you go crazy on day 3, let’s take this opportunity to put out heads together and brainstorm. Hmmm, what to do? Well, my suggestion is if you have a hobby, take this time that you have available to you now to work on it. Instead of sitting around watching tv or sleeping your day away, why not do something to actually stimulate your mind and keep you busy? They say the mind is a terrible thing to waste so let those creative juices flow and marvel at all of what you can create out of pure boredom.

Rest Up

If you are currently out of work, use this time to catch up on those Zzz’s that you have been missing out on. Having a busy schedule can certainly take a toll on the body often causing low energy and stress which leads to burnout. Since life has slowed down, right now would be the perfect opportunity to take those naps that you have always wanted. Allowing your body to heal and get the rest it needs help you feels rejuvenated and refreshed. Reset your mind, close your eyes and curl up with your favorite blanket. By the time it’s time to go back to work you will feel like a brand new person!

Create A Cozy Environment

This one is for my teleworkers. I know a good majority of you are happy because you finally got what you wanted despite the current situation! No more being in a stuffy offices or being bothered by your crazy coworkers and their antics. You get the best of both world because you get to stay home, work in peace, wear whatever you want and still get paid! Now that’s what I’m talking about! To really make it enjoyable, why not create a cozy work station? Whether you are working from your home desk or just chilling in bed, throw in some extra pillows, put on your favorite pair of pajamas and make yourself a nice hot cup of tea. Creating a cozy work environment minimizes stress which allows you to really focus on your assignments. Throw on some relaxing music while you work and you are good to go!
