How To Keep Your Cool In A Time of Chaos

With everything going on, the world is in total chaos right now. This nasty virus has spread to all continents but Antarctica killing off thousands of people, Africa is infested with locusts, and I’m pretty sure Australia is still burning. Woo chile! It’s all too much! The year has just started and it’s already been a hot mess! Stores are damn near empty, schools and most businesses are closed, people are getting laid off, and death is rampant worldwide. At this point it’s pretty much survival of the fittest. With everything going on right now everyone seems to have really lost their minds! Today I have for you tips on how to keep your cool amidst all the chaos. Never fear because Jazzy is here with words of advice to help you stay calm and keep positive. We will get through his struggle together both disease and stress free.

Guess what? Though being laid off for the time being sucks, look at it this way. Now you have all the time in the world to spend with your family and start that business that you’ve always wanted. This may in fact be the opportunity that you’ve been looking for! If you are tired of working for these big corporations just to fill someone else’s pocket, why not take the initiative to come up with a business plan and execute it? Hell if you’re lucky enough to see success before the lockdown in your state is over, you may not even have to go back to that job. Take it for what it is and get that money!

Virus Free?

Good! Stay that way! Keep that immune system up with vitamins, wash those hands, and thank the lord that you woke up blessed to see another day without the pain and suffering that thousands are enduring right now!

Got Food?

I’m not even talking to you hoarders because ya’ll ain’t shit and you know it! It’s really a damn shame how greedy some people can be. Most of us are out here stressed and worried because we can’t find simple items like toilet paper or bread. It makes no sense at all for all this hoarding to be going on! To all my people out there struggling to get food and other essentials, if you can find meat and other things that are quickly being taken off the shelves right now you better TAKE IT, RUN, AND DON’T LOOK BACK! I’m being so serious on the “don’t look back” part because those empty shelves are absolutely depressing to look at. On the bright side of all this, for all my people out there who can’t cook, you gon’ learn today! With the limited amount of items stocked up on the store, you won’t have no choice but to get creative. Work with what you got and let those hands do the work. Who knows, amidst all this you may even become the next greatest chef!

Did you wake up?

If you woke up this morning in your own bed, with the ability to breathe in the crisp morning air, be thankful that the virus missed you because as rapidly as it has been spreading it could’ve easily have been you! Ms.Rona discriminates against no one so (to the tune of the “Bed Intruder” song) “hide your kids, hide your wives and hide your husband because it’s getting everybody out here!” The best thing you can do is keep clean and keep your distance from others to avoid becoming ill. Stay safe and don’t go anywhere if you don’t have to.

If you answered yes to any of these points, then congrats! Despite your current situation, you have been blessed to see another day. Everyday there seems to be an increase in the amount of of Coronavirus cases and deaths globally with what seems to be no signs of slowing down. I understand the situation is not idea and honestly terrifiying but what we all need to take a chill pill and relax! Everything is going to be alright as long as you stay positive and lay low.

Stop Panic Buying

I can recall a few weeks ago when I went to Walmart to do a bit of grocery shopping and I was absolutely shocked at what I saw. Most of the shelves were empty and due to people panic buying things they don’t need. The fact that there was no food, meat or water on the shelves was absolutely insane! There was, however, still plenty of fresh produce barely touched and sitting pretty on the shelves. What Most of us seem to have forgotten is that fruits, vegetables, and vitamins are all essential to maintaining a healthy immune system. Having a healthy immune system is the very thing needed to keep this damn virus out of our systems. This right here showed me just how fat, unhealthy, and greedy most of us Americans really are. Now this might come off a bit harsh to some people, but it is absolutely true. Don’t even get me started on the hoarding of toilet paper, wipes, hand sanitizer and perishable goods. If it takes you 5 rolls of toilet paper to wipe your ass during the 2 weeks that you are quarantined, then I’m going to need for you to go and get that checked out. Stop reaching for things you don’t need so that those of us who really need it don’t have to keeping bouncing from store to store trying to find some damn toilet paper! It’s gotten to the point now where people are really out here stealing these things because they are difficult to find! Milk and other perishable goods tend to expire fairly quickly so why by them in bulk? Unless you use 5 squirts at a time, you do not need 10 things of hand sanitizer because a normal sized bottle should last for quite some time. Now I understand the seriousness of this virus but come on! The struggle is real right now out here in these streets. Leave some things some things on the shelves for people who really need it! Get all of what you REALLY need and get out of the store. Grocery store’s haven’t completely shut down yet so let’s stop treating this like the apocalypse already.

Stay Off Of Social Media

Lord, the conspiracy theorists and wannabe prophets are out and about on social media! Ya’ll just couldn’t resist with all these stupid memes and unnecessary statuses. The end is near though right? If anything, with the way things are going, us humans will end up being the cause of the Earth’s demise due to the mass hysteria and panic that social media has created for us. We don’t take nothing seriously and because of that we are paying the price for it. What we are dealing with right now is no joke AT ALL. This is real life and effecting millions of people around the globe with people are dying everyday! The news and articles circulating around are already causing enough panic and anxiety amongst everybody. Why create more for ourselves with these self made revelations? Nothing positive is being shown in both the news and media at the moment, which is why it’s best for the sake of your mental health to stay off of social media until this mess blows over. From the negative news articles talking about deaths to the Facebook posts about unemployment, and false news articles causing more issues than needed, enough is enough already! I don’t know about you all but I’m sick and tired of hearing about this virus. What about all the good that’s going on in the world, let’s talk about that instead! I’m sure someone, somewhere has either discovered a major scientific breakthrough or did something great for their community. What’s sad is none of these things would be considered newsworthy because that’s not the hot topic at the moment.

What are you doing to maintain your sanity through all this? Let me know in the comments below.

“I’m not even talking to you hoarders because ya’ll have really pissed me off!” This made me laugh out loud…couldn’t have said it better myself. This sort of advice is so necessary at the moment. Hopefully people will stop losing their heads and we can get through it all together.

I always try to stay calm in time of stress. So far it worked. I just don’t get panic buying. So selfish and inconsiderate. what about people who cannot afford to bulk buy? Or who end up with nothing since there is no more stock?

Although neither my partner or I are working at the moment, we’re taking this time to get stuff done around the house. He needs the break, if he’s honest, and hopefully, he’ll get 80% of wages paid.

Luckily, I have not really had the mentality of panic buying. I can see in people’s eyes how stressed they become when they start to panic buy at the groceries. It’s definitely not healthy mentally We’ve kept ourselves busy during the this stay-home quarantine with board games, video games, communicating with family and friends via video chat.

really enjoyed reading this. This is what we really need, we need to maximize the days we have and be productive always. Seems hoarders now are the additional pandemic in the world. And I so agree to stay away from social media because you’ll just keep getting crazier than ever.

I expected after the first round of hoarding that once the store shelves were restocked everything would be fine again. That has not been the case. This one aspect of this whole experience has made me sad for our world. We should be better than this in this day and age.
We could be using this time in life to be coming together and fortunately I do see a lot of that. But seriously, enough with the hoarding! We should all be looking out for others too!

Due to these panic buyers, every time I run out of things, I panic- will I be able to get what I need? I agree with you, don’t waste time on social media. We are finding it hard to even buy a loaf of bread? I just can’t understand why people hoard bread!

I don’t either! Especially since it expires within a few days of buying it smh -__-

Social media is the big enemy at the moment, with all the fake news going around and all the panic videos from people with no authority, who only scare others with lies. Hoarders are awful, selfish people who don’t think about anything else. Good luck eating all that pasta, which will last until 2030 probably!

Great ideas. It can be hard to remain calm as the chaotic winds of life whip up around us, but it’s a critical skill to learn in order to find our true and lasting sense of happiness. When we learn how to keep ourselves cool and collected in the intense and high-pressure moments, we make it that much easier to find the silver lining in any situation.

I so much agree with your tips. I believe that the first thing is NOT to PANIC because when we panic, we would not have the sound mind to be critical with our actions. Ending? Chaos. So, let’s just focus on the essential things to do.
