That’s why it’s best to develop daily habits in order to make the most of your day and have some balance in your life. Get A Good Nights Sleep
I don’t know about you all, but I need my sleep. According to the National Sleep Foundation, the average adult requires about 7-9 hours of sleep each night. Anything less than that and I guarantee you probably won’t be able to function properly in the morning. Getting a good nights sleep helps give you the energy that you need to stay alert and focused the next day. When you lose out on sleep it can have an effect on your mental health, immune system, and may even cause obesity. That’s it is important to ensure that you are getting enough rest at night so you can not only feel great but do your absolute best the next day!
Practice Good Hygeine
This one is definitely important. You cannot have a good day walking around smelling like musty onions and rotten butt cheeks! Nobody wants to smell that and it’s not cute! When it comes to bathing, personally I like taking at least 2 showers a day, sometimes even 3 but it is recommended to take at least one a day. Practicing good hygiene not only means smelling good but it also helps keep the bad bacteria away that can cause illness. This is why it is important to brush your teeth and wash your ASSets on a daily basis, especially In the summer months. If you find yourself outside on a hot, humid day, for added protection it’s best to keep your favorite deodorant, body spray and wet wipes on you at all times (this goes for both males and females). Too much sweat can leave you feeling gross and can even cause you to breakout if left on your face for too long.
Drink Plenty of Water
Water may not be the tastiest thing to drink, but it definitely does the body a lot of good. It come’s with a lot of health benefits to include aiding in weight loss, keeping your skin clear, and of course keeping yourself properly hydrated. In order to get the most out of water it is recommended to drink at least a gallon of it a day. Now I know that this sounds like a lot and you will more than likely be peeing a lot but the benefits are SOOOOO worth it!
Develop A Fitness Routine
Whether you decide to go to the gym or walk for 30 minutes, there are so many wonderful benefits to working out on a daily basis. Some of them include weight loss, low right for diabetes and heart related issues, and it can also increase your endurance if you do it everyday. If you’re just starting out, it’s best to start slow in order to avoid muscle strain and soreness. Stay at a comfortable pace until you feel ready to take your workout to the next step. Exercising can be quite tedious to do everyday but it doesn’t have to be. One way you can make it fun is creating a playlist with your favorite high energy songs and workout to the beat! Eventually you’ll start seeing the results that you are looking for and your goals will be met.
Regulate Your Time On Social Media
The effect that social media has on this generation is almost sickening. Some of us spend way too much time scrolling through sites like Facebook and Instagram trying to either keep up with the latest gossip or post selfies. I’d go on more about why I think social media has created such a negative influence on our generation in many different aspects but we will save that for another day (**ahem** PODCAST WILL BE COMING OUT SOON…STAY TUNED!). Regulating the amount of time that you spend on social media is the best thing that you can do for your mental health. At most I would recommend spending at least 1-2 hours a day online. Take the remaining hours of your day to focus on you and your loved ones instead of worrying about who likes your posts. At the end of the day, unless you are a celebrity, what are those likes and memes being posted really doing for you?
Keep yourself in healthy by incorporating delicious fruits and vegetables into your meals. Incorporating veggies into your meals can do wonders for both the mind and body. Not sure where to start when it comes to healthy recipes? I highly recommend Pinterest! When it comes to cooking, Pinterest has been a big help to me. There’s so many different recipes to try on there! Some of the benefits of eating healthy include weight loss, lowered risk of heart problems, a more positive and happier mentality, and stronger bones and teeth. Fried foods do nothing but wreak havoc on your body and can cause high blood pressure, heart problems and obesity. With that being said there’s nothing wrong with having a piece of fried chicken or your favorite desert everyone once in a while as long as long as you don’t make a habit of it.
