Becoming Your Best Self: A Step By Step Guide To Becoming A Better You

So let’s define personal development:

  • Personal development is the process of improving yourself whether spiritually, emotionally, or even for business purposes.

No matter where you are in life, you can always push yourself to do better. Many of us, including myself, are always seeking to find ways to become a better version of ourselves whether we are looking to improve spiritually, mentally, or financially. The process may not always be easy but once you become in tune with yourself, you’ll slowly start to see everything in your life come together. In order to see results, you must be consistent with focusing on you and what you need to do to achieve the desired results that you are looking for. It takes time and lots of dedication. If you are looking to start your own personal development journey, let this “guide” be the push that you need to get yourself motivated.

Acceptance

The first step in the process is ACCEPTANCE. What I mean by acceptance is to except who you are as a person and all of your flaws. Your flaws are what make you unique and set you apart from everyone else. EMBRACE them and learn to love yourself! No one on this earth is perfect, including yourself. Instead of being critical, take the time to evaluate yourself and see what you can improve on. It doesn’t always have to be physically, as stated above you can improve both spiritually and mentally as well.

Believe in Yourself

If you don’t believe in yourself then who’s going to believe in you? Have faith in yourself and trust me, if you believe then your will ACHIEVE! As the saying goes “the world is your oyster.” Let that confidence shine though and take the things you want in life. Go after what you want in life and never be afraid to take chances. Embrace the unknown instead of fearing it! Sometimes we have to face our fears in order to overcome obstacles that may be in our way. Fear can hold you back from so much to include achieving what you thought was impossible. Remember, your goals are only impossible to achieve if you have the wrong mindset. That’s why you must always maintain a “CAN DO” attitude. Though the journey to your self improvement may be rough, I promise you’ll get there eventually!

Speak Your Mind

Say what you mean and mean what you say! Never be afraid to say what’s your mind especially if it will help get you want. The reason why you have a voice is because you are meant to be heard, not to hold back! The only way to get things done in life is to speak up and let the WORLD hear that lovely voice of yours. Let that confidence shine through and let people know who you are and what you’re about. Speak things into existence and follow through with them in order to achieve the goals that you have set for yourself….

Set Goals For Yourself

Take the time to write down the goals that you would like to achieve and how you plan on achieving them. For example, as many of you may know my main goals as of now would be to become a self improvement life coach and lose weight. Set a time frame in which you would like to have your goals completed and like Rihanna said…

Remember, you should not feel rushed to accomplish your goals, so try to pick a reasonable time frame that will work with both you and your schedule. No matter how difficult things get, KEEP ON GOING until you get the results that you are looking for. Nothing in life is meant to be easy and if it is, you’re either not pushing yourself hard enough or there is something that you are not doing right. Which brings me to my final tip…

Never Be Afraid of Failure

In order to gain success in anything you do in life, you must accept the fact that sometimes the result’s you receive are not always what you want. It is not the end of the world if you mess up, that’s why you have to keep on pushing in order to get the results that you desire. Failure should not be an obstacle to you if you are truly determined to achieve the results that you are looking for. This is why it is important to learn from your mistakes and do the best that you can in order to succeed.

The only way to reach your full potential is to learn as much as you can and be patient. The world is your oyster so if there is something that you want in life, don’t be afraid to go after it. If you are unhappy with where you are in life at the moment or feel it’s time for change, remember, you don’t have to stay there. Push yourself to the limit and never let anything hold you back from becoming a better you! This journey is yours and yours only. We all have different things that we want in life and the only person that can truly motivate yourself is you!

It is just refreshing to see people who share the same mindset regardless of where we come from. Most often the hard part is just to keep being consistent into applying that.

Thank you for this. I’ve been having a difficult time because I’ve gained 15 lbs since I married my husband in 2016. Lately, I haven’t felt very attractive. And due to my regular day job, blogging, making time for my hubby and family, it’s hard to find time to exercise and to keep up with carbs and calories to eat right. When you’re consistently on the go, you reach for whatever’s easiest when you get hungry. ‘Definitely something I need to work on to get my oomph back!

I feel the same way! Keeping a consistent workout schedule with a full time job and other things you have to do on the daily can make exercising somewhat difficult and less enjoyable. In order to get the energy to workout, I’ve found that taking a b-12 vitamin before going to the gym helps tremendously.

Absolutely. I definitely need to get back on my B-12. Haven’t had it in a few years!

I agree with all of this. There is no such thing as failure. Only lessons.
