It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of Year…Or Is It?

Whoo! Summer just ended and fall has finally arrived. Thank goodness because I was over this years excessive heat and humidity! It’s nice to see the weather finally cooling off, leaves changing, boots coming back into style, and the wonderful smells of pumpkin spice wafting into the air. All of these things sound all great and wonderful until you realize that the holidays are right around the corner. Now all of a sudden you’re scrambling trying to save money and figure out what gifts to get the people close to you. Like the song goes, It’s the most wonderful tiiiimmmeee, of the year!” and that’s the way it should be. The holidays should not at all be stressful. It should be a time to be thankful for the loved ones that you still have around you. With that being said, this year we will be blessed not stressed! Here’s some things that you can do to make things go smoothly for the holidays.

Make that list now and check it twice

What we are not going to do this year is wait until the last minute to buy presents for our loved ones. Go ahead and get your shop on now! Trust me it will make things a lot easier. With Black Friday around the corner and sites like Afterpay around, there is no excuse. I even saw that Walmart offers a plan similar to Afterpay’s on some items like laptops, where you can make a small payment every month and still have it delivered to you within a few days. What a time to be alive right?!

Siiillent night…My Moneys Tight

Don’t stress over money this holiday season. If you don’t have it and can’t buy the food or gifts that you want, don’t worry about it! I know it sounds cheesy, but the holidays should be about spending time with your loved ones. Life is short and waking up tomorrow is not guaranteed. Instead of worrying about material things, why not just work with what you have and make the best of everything?

You better not shout, you better not cry, be nice to your family and I’m telling you why

We all got that one family member that we just cannot stand! You’ll just sitting in the living room minding your own business and BOOM! Cousin Ray Ray tries to throw shade at you and start unnecessary mess. What we are not going to do this year is allow our ignorant relatives to get to us! I truly believe in the phrase “kill them with kindness”. If you encounter this situation, just smile and go about your business. Don’t even provide a response to their ignorance because that is exactly what they want. Family members like this tend to be jealous of you and your accomplishments. If they want to act stupid towards you, let them and show them that you are above them. Besides, it’s not worth it to be handcuffed in a cop car on the holidays because you decided to let you anger get to you and show Cousin Ray Ray what them fists do! Be the bigger person and either leave or don’t allow them to get you out of character.

This year, let’s all have a holly jolly christmas instead of stressing over unnecessary things. We all need to slow down and enjoy the time that we have left with our family and friends. The world is getting more and more cynical everyday and the holidays should be a time of joy and happiness.

Happy Holidays Everyone!
